The Refusal

Chapter 7 – The Refusal



Our three brave Lucarios are arrived at the encampment, hoping that the good news will be well received by everyone. Hellurio was a bit concerned about the camp leader’s reaction because of bringing strangers among them. Still, he must give it a try. As soon as they arrived to the entrance a few Flame Specialists-supposedly guards- came out quickly surrounding them.

“Hellurio, you know you can’t bring strangers to our encampment!”
“ I know. But I bring news! Please allow us to pass.”
“ Very well, but only under our surveillance.”

But the guard soon saw Rilurio, and quickly asked him;

“ You’re a Flame Specialist, but I have never seen you around here, who are you?”
“ My name is Rilurio, I am the brother of Darulio, this Dark Lucario here,”
“But, how is that possible?”
“ All shall be known in time. For now, let us see your leader,”

After walking further into the encampment they reached a large tent and a guard said;

“ Wait here, I will inform the leader of your arrival,”

After a few minutes the guard and the leader come out. The leader was slightly stronger in body than regular lucarios, and his flames powerful and vibrant. He reached the brothers and Hellurio.

“ I am Sat’Ian, leader of the Flame Specialists, and who might these two strangers be?”
“ These are Darulio and his brother Rilurio. They came from the clan!”
“ From the clan you say eh… well how is possible that Rilurio, a Flame Specialist came from the clan since the ritual was forbidden?”
Then Darulio said;
“All is explained in this letter I brought to Hellurio,” said Darulio giving the letter to Hellurio

After reading the letter sent by Mike, Hellurio turns to the leader and says;

“It seems the ritual has been permitted in the clan again! And they are requesting our help, since they are bound to be attacked by a large group of Rocket troops. Here is the chance for us to return sir!”
“…We are not going to help them…” said Sat’Ian

Suddenly Hellurio and the 2 brothers became very upset. Then after a few seconds of hesitation Hellurio replied;

“But, sir, can’t you see…”
“ I don’t see shit!! Why should we help those that neglected our existence, those who refused us?”
“ But sir, they will be extinct without our help!!”
“ Suits them well, since they tried to do the same with us! GUARDS!!! SURROUND THE STRANGERS!!!”
“SIR, NO! THEY HAVE NO FAULT!!!”
Suddenly some Flame Specialists surrounded our 2 brothers, preparing their flames for burning them, when suddenly Rilurio summoned powerful flames to his body.

“Don’t resist Rilurio, it will be suicide!!!!” replied Hellurio

Then Rilurio, giving a demonic glare to Hellurio, said;

“Don’t worry, we are going to be alright. Darulio, cover yourself, this is gonna hurt…”

Raging flames started to surround Rilurio’s body and in a roar the flames expanded like an explosion, tossing the guards a few meters through the air, crashing down injured. While the dust and smoke was starting to disappear, Rilurio rushed out of the mist, pushing the leader to the ground, which was now terrified, then touching the throat with his claws he said;

“Shall you touch any of us, you will die in that instant, you understand? We came in peace, now look what you made me do… Darulio, are you okay” said Rilurio, who was responded by Hellurio
“He is alright, just a bit injured, nothing problematic, let Sat’Ian go, lemme talk to him…”

Rilurio helped Sat’Ian getting up who this said;

“Where did you get so much power? Not even I can match that!”
“That is none of your business” Said Rilurio returning to check on his brother

“Sir, are you going to return to the clan or not?”
“My decision is final, none of us will return”
“Very well, I will leave the encampment to help the clan”
“If that is your decision then go, but remember this, you are no longer welcome here!”
“I understand. There is only one more thing, please allow us some time to recover and then we will leave and you will hear nothing more from us…”
“Request granted, by sunrise I want you out from here!!”
“Thanks”

Then on the other side;

“ Darulio, are you okay?”
“ Yes, just a little burned, I should be alright in a few hours. Damn, where did you get so much power??”
“Even I don’t know, maybe it has to do with myself as well”
“If you hadn’t warned me, I would be dead by now, I never expected you to get so much power!”
“Well, it seems I grew up” said him smiling”

Hellurio reached the two brothers to give them the news

“It seems they are not helping us, and as I am to help you, I was banished”
“But, that way you can never return here!” said Darulio
“I know, I don’t regret it. I will have a home soon… The leader allowed us time to rest until sunrise, so let’s get something to eat and we shall rest in my tent…”
